Ja Rulay

Ja Rulay is a 21-year-old Cuban reggaeton singer from Colón, Havana, who has become one of the most prominent voices of the new generation of the Cuban "reparto" movement. Known as "el papá de los cachorros" (the father of the cubs), he has established himself as a cultural reference both on the island and in the diaspora.

Born and raised in conditions of extreme poverty in a crumbling Havana tenement, Ja Rulay began his musical career forming a duo with Fixty Ordara, achieving great success with tracks like "Todo está OK" (2022), which surpassed 9 million views on YouTube. In October 2023, the duo announced their separation to continue their solo careers.

Among his most notable songs as a solo artist are "Respeta", "Maldita", "El Barco" (in collaboration with Were and Toy Boy), and "Chingona" with Wow Popy. His music reflects the experiences of Cuban neighborhoods, combining reggaeton with trap and contemporary urban rhythms.

Beyond music, Ja Rulay has been characterized by his social activism, raising his voice against the drug consumption crisis in Cuba, especially among young people aged 16 to 19. He has also been involved in various controversies on social media and has had public confrontations with other artists in the genre, including a physical altercation with the late El Taiger in Varadero in May 2024.

Recently, in January 2026, the artist announced that he will become a father for the first time with his partner, influencer Marell Infante, and has shown signs of initiating immigration processes to the United States. Despite his young age, Ja Rulay is projected as an influential figure in Cuban urban culture, with thousands of followers who closely follow both his music and his personal life.
